Bishop is a writer, educator and researcher.

Bishop is currently an Assistant Professor of Women and Gender Studies at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. They most recently held a position as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of British Columbia in the Faculty of Education. They graduated from the University of Toronto’s Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) with a PhD in Education.
